Conclusion
Lessons Learned
During this semester, we have learned how to design and manage business structures and processes from the textbook. By doing this project, we have learned how to apply the knowledge we learned from class to a real world business. For the project, we did competitive priorities, process strategies and analysis, quality and performance, and lean systems, etc.
To be specific, we have learned:
1. Lean Systems
How to use lean systems to maximize the value to the company. For example, China Star need to stay close to its suppliers and get supplies frequently, so that it can reduce capacity slack.
2. Process Strategies and Analysis
How to implement process strategies in operations. With the help of data analysis tools, we make recommendations that can improve China Star's operations.
3. Quality Performance
How to evaluate and improve quality and performance. We first control the costs of quality, and then try to find a way to improve the quality of services.
